WebThe cystohepatic (Calot’s) triangle is important in surgical dissection during cholecystectomy. Clinically this is described as a triangle bounded by the cystic duct, the hepatic duct and the underside of the liver (although the original description by Calot was of the cystic duct, the hepatic duct and the hepatic artery). WebIntraoperative cholangiography starts by obtaining the critical view of safety and identifying the cystohepatic triangle. A clip is placed on the cystic duct to prevent flow of bile from the gallbladder or contrast into the gallbladder during IOC. A small incision is then made on the anterior surface of the cystic duct just below the clip.
