Then you can do whatever you want. Get them hot enough and that adhesive is like bubble gum. If you're going to use the string idea, throw a blanket on the ground under the mirrors as you do it. Just in case they pop out.

Select Safety and Driving Assistance. The 8th item on mine is Tilt Side Mirror in Reverse. Uncheck that block on the right.
