The reason why it was working with VGA is because you were not connecting to the graphics card, i am sure the GTX 1050 does not come with a VGA port, you were connecting to the onboard graphics, that is why your dxdiag showed your graphics as "Desktop Graphics Chipset Accelerated VGA ".
